32 years in fitness, chiropractic, sports performance, functional training, and movement-based coaching.
Dr. Eric Pirrone began his fitness career at 18 years old as a personal trainer. What started as a passion for helping people lose weight, build muscle, and feel better grew into a deeper mission: helping people overcome the pain, weakness, and physical limitations that keep them from fully living their lives.
After building his early personal training business, Dr. Pirrone was introduced to chiropractic care and realized that pain was often the missing part of the fitness story. People were not only trying to look better or get stronger. They were trying to get back to something their body was no longer allowing them to do.
That realization led him into chiropractic. He completed his undergraduate work in biology and went on to chiropractic school, studying at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and later at Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. Along the way, he studied sports science, sports chiropractic, soft tissue care, movement-based rehabilitation, and functional training.
In 2008, after discovering CrossFit and the work of Greg Glassman, Dr. Pirrone opened CrossFit Fuel in Lambertville, New Jersey. He later opened CrossFit Newtown and CrossFit Well, continuing to blend fitness, movement, coaching, and function. In 2013, he also served as Director of Fitness for Cornerstone in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he trained 48 staff trainers to become more effective functional coaches.
Today, his work through Functional Life brings those decades of experience together into one practical model: help people move from pain into progress, and build programs around their body, goals, and life.
Functional Life combines clinical insight, real-world coaching experience, movement assessment, strength training, nutrition support, and accountability.
